Spiced Apple Cider
Ingredients:
- 2 jugs of fresh apple cider (3L each)
- 4 cinnamon sticks
- 1/4 cup cloves
- A dash of allspice
- Large pot or percolator
- Muslin bag
Let's Make it:
Spices: Toss 4 cinnamon sticks, 1/4 cup of cloves, and a dash of allspice into a muslin bag. Tie it up nice and snug.
Mix & Simmer: Pour the two jugs of fresh apple cider into a large pot or percolator. Drop in the spice bag. Let the flavours mingle and dance. Give it a gentle simmer for about an hour.
Serve: Remove the spice bag. Ladle that warm, spiced goodness into mugs.
Optional Extra Love: After simmering, you may want to strain the cider to remove the spices and any pulp for a smoother texture. Try some orange peel, a bit of sweetener, a splash of vanilla or rum.
